This means `pip install diffoscope` will not try to download new source distributions that then fail to build, if you run pip with an unsupported Python version. (Unfortunately pip will still attempt to download older releases of diffoscope that did not have python_requires in the metadata. Still, it'll be useful when you eventually drop support for Python 3.5 and start requiring newer Pythons.)

Don't assume all files called ".a" are ELF binaries because we specified a FILE_EXTENSION_SUFFIX. This prevents an "Unrecognized archive format" traceback when processing (for example) lie 2.2.2+dfsg-3. (Closes: #903446)

While creating a Flatpak package for Diffoscope, I found myself wanting to compare the list reported by --list-tools to what was available in the sandbox (so that I could add interesting external tools). Since Diffoscope already has all the machinery to find external tools – including logic to prefix "g" for GNU tools on non-GNU systems – it is best placed to report the list of missing tools.

Fix test failures with upcoming file(1) 5.35. Thanks to Christoph Biedl for the heads-up in advance. (Closes: #912756) The regexp now covers both libmagic < 5.35 and libmagic >= 5.35. Signed-off-by:
